Carlo Saija

Carlo is a student graduated in BEng Biomedical Engineering at King’s College London, winner of the KCL Engineering Association Medal and the Layton Research Science Award. In the summer of 2021, he joined Professor Rhode’s research team as an intern, to work on 3D-printed thermosensitive heart phantoms for Radiofrequency Cardiac Ablation. In the summer of 2022 he worked with for Caranx Medical to produce ultrasound phantoms for catheter entry and suturing phantoms for bariatric suturing.

His current research focuses on improving the current version of the cardiac ablation simulator to include more anatomical features to aid in surgical training for doctors and robotic systems.
