The main aim of the project is to develop 3D bioprinted cardiac tissue to be incorporated into a cardiac simulator for ablation training. The objective is to develop bioprinted cardiac scaffolds with enhanced biomimetic properties. Viable myocytes or precursor cells will be supported within the scaffold to construct a more physiologically representative ablation response model. The thermal and electrical properties of the phantoms will be evaluated to ensure their suitability for ablation simulation. Finally, a proof-of-concept model will be created to validate the feasibility of this approach before scaling to more complex models that could eventually be used to test clinical cardiac ablation techniques.
