Aban graduated from King’s College London in 2024 with an MSc in Healthcare Technologies following a BEng in Biomedical Engineering. His experience in medical robotics began in 2022 when he completed a research fellowship in the school of Biomedical Engineering & Imaging Sciences. This work focused on sensing in robotic imaging systems as well as CAD and 3D printing. Aban’s postgraduate projects expanded to include areas such as actuation of surgical robotics together with machine learning and computer vision for robotic guidance in medical interventions. His PhD focuses on the development of novel soft micro-robotics technologies for ocular surgery with a view to facilitating new procedures and autonomy.
