Federica Montrone

Federica Montrone is a biomedical engineer specialised in medical device development. She has extensive experience developing neurotechnology devices in industry settings, spanning early-stage R&D concepts to functional prototypes for preclinical and clinical applications. Her expertise includes process development, device design and optimization, design risk assessment, and user-centered design, with active engagement with stakeholders for usability testing.

She holds an MSc and BSc in Biomedical Engineering from Politecnico di Torino, graduating summa cum laude, with part of her education completed at the University of Basel and the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne. Her master’s thesis has been recognised with multiple national awards.
